A History of the House
Since 1993,
one way of working.
Houses for family friends first. Then the hotels, the restorations, and the furniture. Today the work carries its founder’s name, as a brand of Southern Silk Road: the same hands, the same workshop, and the founder on site every morning.
A Word from the Founders
We began in 1993 by building homes for friends of the family, under the name Kappa International. Nobody asks you back into their home unless the work was honest, and so every house became the introduction to the next.
The hotels followed, then the restorations, then the furniture from our own workshop. Much of what we have built carries another company’s name on the gate, and many of the houses we will never name at all. That is as it should be. What we offer is not a logo. It is a way of working: on site every day, the garden drawn with the house, and nothing handed over until we would live in it ourselves.
