Candacraig.
A new chapter for an old house.

On five acres in Pyin Oo Lwin, the former home of the Bombay Burmah Trading Corporation is being reimagined as a hotel in the Ngapali Bay Collection. Kyaw Sein is building the project and co-designing its interiors and teak furniture with architect Christopher Green.

Made for your lifetime.
Treasured by the next generation.

Some things become part of the family. A home filled with memories. A table shared across generations. We create places and pieces to live with, care for, and one day pass on.

The Builder

A house should outlast
the people who built it.

Before most people wake, U Kyaw Sein is reading about houses and hotels. He has spent a lifetime seeking out antiques across Myanmar and collecting paintings with the same patient eye he brings to a building.

On site, that eye becomes a standard. Every room, piece of furniture and garden is considered for the life it will hold, and for the family who may one day inherit it.

What we mean by luxury

The things worth keeping.

Luxury is not a finish applied at the end. It is decided at the start, in the timber that is chosen, the time that is allowed, and the hands that are trusted with it.

I
Lasting quality

Quality is felt in the fit of a door, the comfort of a chair and the care of a joint. Every material must serve the way a piece will be used.

II
Natural material

Teak, rosewood, stone, brass, lime and linen. Materials that age into their beauty rather than out of it.

III
Time

Time matters in the making and in the living. Thoughtful decisions today should mean less to replace, less to put right, and more time to enjoy what you have chosen.

IV
Care

Care belongs in the work and in the way people are treated. Our ambition is to make things that serve their owners well and preserve the knowledge of the hands that make them.

An evening at home

A house is finished when it is lived in.

A dinner that runs late, a garden set for a wedding, and the ordinary evenings in between.
